With Sports Day the absolute highlight, this week has also been filled with transition sessions and plenty of learning, fun and play in Pre-Prep.
In Nursery this week, some of us have been enjoying transition sessions to Reception. We have been making passports and boarding passes in our explorer’s centre and discussing where in the world we would like to explore.
In literacy this week, Reception pupils have been creating a beach safety poster with top tips on how to stay safe when visiting the coast. In maths, we have been learning how to tell the time on an analogue clock. We have been learning how many seconds there are in a minute and seeing how much we can do in a minute. We have also been learning how to create music with bells and create lots of beautiful sounds.
This week in literacy, Year 1 has been learning about how a story is structured, and we’ve been writing our own myths. In maths, we have been learning all about money. We created a shop and worked out how much money we would need to buy the objects on our shopping list. In science this week, we have been examining different plant specimens under a digital microscope.
Year 2 has started our new story ‘Somebody Swallowed Stanley’, and we are learning all about the effects of plastic on our oceans. We have made story maps to help us retell the story. We also enjoyed a transition morning this week in our Year 3 classrooms with our Year 3 teachers.
