It has been another busy and productive week at Truro School Pre-Prep. Our Harvest festival has given us plenty of food for thought and we have continued to work hard in all that we do.
In Nursery this week, we have continued to explore our golden rules, in particular, looking at being kind and helpful. We read a book all about ways to be kind. Some of us have shared our chatter bags, which include lots of things that are special to us and things which we would love to talk about. At the end of a long day, we have also enjoyed practising our yoga.
In Reception this week, the children are excited to have started our new creative writing initiative: Drawing Club. In maths, we have been out and about with picture frames to see if we can notice compositions of numbers up to five.
In Year 1 science this week, we have been learning how animals adapt to the cold. We have conducted an experiment exploring the insulating effects of blubber. In literacy, we have been writing a factual leaflet about marine iguanas. We have been exploring how non-fiction is different to fiction.
In Year 2 science this week, we have been exploring healthy living and learning how exercise can affect our heart rate. This week, we have enjoyed learning about how to become environmental change-makers with the Surfers Against Sewage. We have had fun participating in the activities and listening to all the guest speakers and their experiences on how to keep our waters safe and clean.
