At Truro School Prep, we are proud to provide our pupils with an exceptional range of sporting opportunities as part of a well-rounded and active education. As we continue to invest in our provision, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Ward as our new Head of Sports, starting this September.
Andy joins us with extensive experience, having held senior positions including Director of Sport at both Elstree School and Forres Sandle Manor School, as well as a pastoral role as House Parent at Kingswood School.
He is already well known to many of our pupils and parents through his inspiring coaching over the past two years with the Cornish Cricket Company. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team, where his passion and expertise will further strengthen our commitment to sport.
This appointment complements our ongoing investment in the sporting life of the school. Our pupils already benefit from excellent on-site facilities, including a dedicated sports hall, an on-site indoor swimming pool, and expansive playing fields. This summer, we are also excited to unveil our brand-new cricket wicket, providing an enhanced space for skill development and match play.
Our strong links with Truro School Senior ensure that pupils at Prep have access to some of the region’s finest sports amenities. These include the state-of-the-art hockey and rugby pitches, the 25-metre swimming pool, and the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre, which houses indoor courts used for a variety of sports and activities. This seamless connection between the Prep and Senior schools ensures our children are exposed to first-class coaching and facilities from an early age.
Sport at Truro School Prep is about more than just competition; it’s about fostering a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity, building confidence, teamwork, and resilience. With the arrival of Andy Ward and our ongoing development of outstanding facilities, we look forward to an exciting future for sport at Truro School Prep.
