Transitional Rugby Afternoon

We were pleased to welcome our incoming Year 7 (1st Years) for an afternoon in the sunshine playing rugby with Mr Excell on the Senior School’s 1st team pitch.

The group spent the session learning coaching and training techniques, completing six sequences in pairs, for many, it was their first time meeting future classmates. Open to boys and girls of all abilities, the experience encouraged not only rugby skills but also ambition, teamwork, and personal growth.

The session, titled Transition to Truro, is designed to nurture independence and introduce pupils to a more mature teaching style. As pupils prepare to move from Prep and primary schools into Year 1 (1st Year) of the Senior School, this is one of several transition events. These sessions give pupils the chance to spend time on campus and begin forming bonds with their future year group, while also offering parents the opportunity to connect ahead of the new academic year.
