Sports Round-Up 23.05.25

Our U13 boys’ and girls’ tennis teams took to the courts at Boscawen Park this week for the annual Schools Tennis Competition. After an energising cardio tennis warm-up and a motivational team talk reminding players that “full effort is full victory,” our pupils were well prepared for the day ahead.

The boys performed brilliantly throughout the singles and doubles matches, securing a well-deserved 3rd place finish. The girls team showed fantastic effort and spirit, narrowly missing out on qualification from the group stage, but delivering impressive performances nonetheless.

Mr Askey, Head Tennis Coach, said, “It was a pleasure to take such a lovely group of young people to the event, to see how they conducted themselves on and off the court, and also how much they improved their games and understanding of playing matches.”

A big thank you to Mrs Homer, School Team Manager, for supporting the teams throughout the day and helping create such a positive experience. Well done to India, Sarah, Amelia, Amelie, Isobel, Sunny, Brodie, Benji and Sammy!

Congratulations to all students who competed in this week’s Super 8s athletics meet at Carn Brea track. Our 1st Year and combined 2nd and 3rd Year teams delivered fantastic performances to finish 4th and 3rd respectively among strong competition.

There were some outstanding performances on the day, with many pupils achieving personal bests. Special congratulations to our event winners:

It’s been a busy and exciting week for our girls’ and boys’ cricket teams, who have shown impressive stamina and skill over the last few weeks.

The U13 girls have travelled to Cape Cornwall for a cup match and Grampound Road for a cricket festival, whilst the boys also enjoyed a cup match against Mount’s Bay and our mixed U13 girls and boys team travelled to Bryanston School to take part in a fantastic mixed cricket festival.

With sunshine throughout the week, conditions were perfect for cricket, and the teams rose to the occasion with some excellent play.
