A historic day for football at Truro School saw the mixed U16, girls U15, and mixed U14 teams traveling to Bournemouth for the last 16 of the English Schools’ Football Association Competition. All teams delivered exceptional performances, with a special mention to the U14 team for securing a spot in the quarter-finals of the national competition. Congratulations to all involved!
Congratulations to Annie W in the 2nd Year for being selected to join the Cornwall County Development Pathway Swimming Programme. This fantastic result highlights Annie’s dedication and hard work in training. Well done, Annie!
A big round of applause for Jacob (4th Year) and Millie (3rd Year), who triumphed at the U16 Boys and Girls tennis singles titles in Bideford, part of the South West Tour, last weekend. A brilliant achievement for both pupils!
The 1st Years had a glorious afternoon during their first rugby lesson of the new term. Focusing on passing and moving to support the ball, the group demonstrated excellent teamwork and skill. The session concluded with some wrestling activities, which the girls particularly enjoyed. Well done 1st Years – we can’t wait to see what’s next!
It was a pleasure to host the Indoor County Tournaments. Mrs. Wyatt was thrilled with the effort displayed by all players. The young boys’ squad faced a strong and experienced Truro College team but showed great promise for future years. Huge congratulations to the girls’ team, who claimed the county title with an impressive 6-3 win over Truro College in the deciding game.
Our Wednesday sporting activities launched on a beautifully sunny day. The outdoor football pitches were alive with energy as pupils prepared for an exciting season of fixtures, focusing on skill development, core techniques, and fitness. Over on the netball courts, a strong turnout saw pupils engaged in skill-building exercises, fitness drills, and match training. Meanwhile, in the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre, the beginner fencing group honed their parry and attack manoeuvres under Mrs. Jupp’s guidance.
Well done to everyone for a fantastic week of sporting achievements!
