Students from Truro School Sixth Form have started the new academic year with determination, as leadership training commenced for all Senior Prefects.
Before the holiday, they took part in an introductory session with Henry and Rich from Intent Leadership. Many students used the time and skills gained to prepare for Head Boy and Head Girl interviews, and felt the experience boosted their confidence throughout the process.
Intent Leadership is a progressive training model, drawing on Rich and Henry’s military backgrounds and experience in high-performance teams. Through challenging — and at times uncomfortable — situations, students gain valuable insights into self-awareness, understanding their own and others’ reactions to stress, and how they function under pressure in both small groups and larger teams.
Truro School has a longstanding relationship with Intent Leadership, delivering the programme to Sixth Form students to help them develop essential skills for adulthood and life beyond school. The programme aims to support them with university interviews, career progression, and job applications.
This week, students took part in group activities designed to highlight the importance of collaboration within high-performance teams.
We look forward to following the exciting journey of our Sixth Formers as they progress through the course over the school year.
