With rain stopping play on several planned fixtures this week, our intrepid Some U10 and U11 netballers travelled to Stover School in Devon on Wednesday. Despite the challenging weather, the girls delivered two outstanding performances full of determination and teamwork.
Persistent rain and strong winds made conditions far from ideal, yet the players showed remarkable resilience. Not once did they complain; instead, they embraced the challenge and demonstrated impressive perseverance throughout the afternoon.
Both matches were fast‑paced and end‑to‑end, with the girls moving the ball confidently despite the slippery court. They adapted brilliantly as they rotated through a variety of positions, often stepping into roles that were not their most familiar. Some great goals were scored on both courts, with a number of girls embracing the pressure of a shooting position.
The squads showcased excellent passing sequences, strong defensive pressure, and determined attacking play. Every player contributed to the team effort, making it a fantastic display of developing skill and collective spirit. A special congratulations goes to Coco and Evelyn, who were awarded Players of the Match for their hard work, teamwork, and consistently positive impact on the court.
Despite the weather, it was a hugely encouraging outing for both age groups, and the girls should feel proud of their performance and attitude.
