With rain having stopped play previously, Years 1 and 2 took to the field with incredible energy and enthusiasm for their rescheduled track and field athletics afternoon. This time, the sun and our courageous pupils shone brightly.
This event was the culmination of a term’s worth of hard work in PE lessons, where the children have been learning and developing the techniques required for each activity. From mastering the art of throwing a vortex to perfecting their long jump take-offs, many pupils were trying these skills for the first time, and they tackled every challenge with focus and determination.
Each station buzzed with excitement as children encouraged one another and celebrated their achievements together. The track events brought even more cheers as Year 1 took on the 200m sprint, while Year 2 gave it their all in a thrilling 400m race. The highlight of the afternoon was undoubtedly the team relays, where teamwork really came into play.
This event was a joyful celebration of effort and progress in sporting activities the children will continue to build on as they move up the school.
Well done to all our budding athletes for giving their best and showing fantastic team spirit throughout the day. A big thank you goes to Mrs Egford and all of the Pre-Prep Staff who helped make the event run smoothly.
