This week in Pre-Prep our Reception children gathered excitedly in the hall for a very special story. Waiting for them was Rev Helen, our School Chaplain, along with some colourful puppet friends ready to help tell the story of Palm Sunday.
Through the puppets, Rev Helen brought the story to life for the children, explaining how Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey while crowds of people welcomed him by waving palm branches and shouting with joy. The children listened carefully, while learning about this important moment in the Easter story.
Soon it was time for the children to become part of the story themselves. Each child took a palm leaf and, full of excitement, set off on their own Palm Sunday parade. Waving their branches proudly, they walked together just as the crowds did long ago, filling the hall with happy voices and bright smiles.
It was a joyful and memorable way for our pupils to experience the story of Palm Sunday.
