Leiths Wine Tasting

Students on the Leiths School of Food and Wine programme recently enjoyed a wine tasting session as part of their ongoing culinary training.

The session offered pupils the opportunity to develop their understanding of flavour profiles, grape varieties, and the art of pairing wine with food, an essential skill for aspiring chefs and food professionals. Guided through a selection of carefully chosen wines, students learned how to assess aroma, taste, and structure, building both their confidence and vocabulary in a professional tasting environment.

The experience forms part of the wider Leiths curriculum at Truro School, which blends practical cookery skills with a deeper appreciation of food provenance and dining culture. By engaging in hands-on sessions such as this, students gain valuable insight into the hospitality industry while refining their palates and broadening their culinary knowledge.

The tasting was a highlight for many, sparking curiosity and conversation, and further enhancing the students’ journey through this prestigious course.
