Gold for Cornwall Youth Choir

Cornwall youth choir members Oriana, Josh, Elsie and Lily all participated in the Interkultur International Choir Competition in Kingston-upon-Hull. The event was especially memorable because it was not only Cornwall youth choirs’ first competition apart from the Cornwall Music Festival but also the first international competition hosted in the UK.

The Choir did incredibly well and received various awards, including two gold diplomas. They were also awarded a special prize in recognition of their contribution to raising awareness for environmental issues through choral art.

Angela Renshaw, our Music Coordinator at Truro School Prep, is the Choir Director, and she said: “We’ve come away from this competition a different choir. What an experience! Total joy, exhilarating to perform and make new choir friends from around the world.”
