Athletics Shines at Truro School Prep

We have been proud to have hosted Bosvigo School and Polwhele House at Truro School Prep this week for two outstanding athletic events that spanned two days: Tuesday, 13th May (Year 3 and 4) and Wednesday, 14th May (Year 5 and 6).

With every child competing in four events: sprint (60m / 75m), distance (400m/ 600m), long jump and vortex throw, both afternoons were a blend of friendly competition and individual confidence and courage.

Some tight races took place on the track, and some incredible distances were achieved in both the long jump and vortex throw events. The children showed tremendous self-belief and determination in their track and field events.

Well done to every child who took part, with a special mention to our Year 3 and 4 teams for their exceptional results that saw many of them achieve new personal bests in their track and field events.

Year 3

60m: 1st = Josh, 2nd = Winnie, Nola, William and Jasper, 3rd = Imogen, Neesha, Theo and Otto

400m: 1st = Nola, 2nd = Alfie, 3rd = Imogen and Theo

Long jump: Joint 2nd = Nola, Imogen (2.90m) and Jasper (2.84m), 3rd = Theo (2.80m)

Vortex throw: 1st = Neesha (14.80m) and Theo (21.90m), 2nd = Imogen (13.05m) and Otto (18.75m), 3rd = Grace (11.80m) and Alfie (18.70m)

Year 4

60m: 1st = Jack, Mabel, Edward and Christopher, 2nd = Seren

400m: 1st = Jack and Mabel, 3rd = Isabella and Christopher

Long jump: 1st = Jack (3.42m), 3rd = Mabel (3.15m) and Christopher (3.35m)

Vortex throw: 1st = Mabel (20.05m) and Albie (24.05m), 2nd = James (23.80m), 3rd = Harleen (18.50m) and Hugo (23.0m)

Year 5
