A Story of Belonging: Celebrating Our Boarding Prefects

In the quiet early hours before the school day begins, and long after the final bell has rung, the heartbeat of our school continues to echo through the corridors of our boarding houses. It is here, in this close-knit community that the true meaning of belonging is felt most deeply.

Among the many who make this community thrive are our boarding prefects, a group of senior pupils whose leadership and kindness shape the very fabric of boarding life. Whether it’s organising weekend movie nights, planning fun themed activities, or simply being a friendly face to younger boarders navigating life away from home, our boarding prefects are always there. They lead by example, offering support not just during the school day, but in the quiet, in-between moments that define boarding life; after school, in the evenings, and at weekends.

They help with daily routines, lend a hand with house duties, and guide the “tidy-up” teams at the end of each day. But more than that, they create a sense of home. They are the ones who notice when someone needs a chat, who rally the house for a celebration, and who remind us all what it means to be part of something bigger than ourselves.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our dedicated boarding staff, who work tirelessly to nurture and guide every student. But today, we shine a special light on our prefects, these Sixth Form leaders who give so much of themselves to make boarding life vibrant, inclusive, and full of heart.

Thank you: Angie, Cyrus, Tom, Natalie, Chun, Kenny, Luka, Emily, Anna, Maddie, Percy and Samson (not photographed) for your time, your energy, your compassion and your leadership. You are the soul of our boarding community, and we are grateful for all that you do.
