Our Sixth Form Diploma is an exciting framework of opportunities within supra-curricular, personal growth and leadership and service, built around our core A-Level offering.
Your Sixth Form years are about more than achieving excellent grades. They are a chance to discover what inspires you, develop new skills, make a difference to others and prepare for life beyond school. The Sixth Form Diploma has been designed to help you do exactly that.
Alongside your academic studies, you will build experiences that develop confidence, leadership, independence and resilience.
Through a combination of personalised opportunities, practical experiences and dedicated support, you will create a portfolio of achievements that reflects your interests, ambitions and potential.
Whether your next step is university, an apprenticeship, employment or a gap year, the Diploma will help you stand out and ensure you leave Truro School with more than qualifications alone.

The Diploma runs across the Autumn, Spring and Summer Term in the Lower Sixth and the Autumn and Spring Term in the Upper Sixth with one contact lesson and one timetabled lesson a fortnight during the Lower Sixth. Within the Diploma framework, you are required to complete the core component section alongside your chosen electives. All students need to complete 150 credits and we recommend that electives are split evenly across supra-curricular, personal growth and leadership and service. Support is given when choosing your electives in order to maximise your success through a cohesive approach. Electives are logged and tracked through Unifrog, with credits assigned towards the gold, silver or bronze certificate.
To truly help you be the best that you can be, and to fully prepare you for life after A-Levels, our Sixth Form Diploma focuses on character development outside of the classroom, including co-curricular opportunities, life and employability skills and leadership.
Our school motto, Esse Quam Videri (to be, rather than to seem to be), captures the essence of our identity and is defined by the 5 C's below. Underpinned by strong Christian principles, we are a caring and inclusive community which values, nurtures and develops each individual.
