WATCH! Weekly News from Pre-Prep 03.07.26

It has been another vibrant and engaging week in the Pre-Prep, filled with adventure, creativity and exciting milestones as the children come to the end of this incredible academic year.

In Nursery, the children have embraced the great outdoors, enjoying a wonderful trip to the woods where they explored and ran through the bamboo with great enthusiasm. Back in the classroom, they have been equally busy, expressing themselves through painting and colouring, and sharing special moments as they listened to stories.

Reception pupils have been inspired by episodes of The Poddington Peas, using the characters as a springboard for their own creativity. They have drawn their favourite characters and developed their writing skills by composing descriptive sentences using adjectives. Adding to the excitement of the week, the children also wrote thoughtful letters to their new Year 1 teachers, marking an important step in their transition.

Year 1 has taken a scientific approach to their learning, discussing the results of their recent experiment on bacteria and exploring the conditions in which bacteria thrive. Alongside this, they have been developing their literacy skills by writing imaginative similes and reinforcing their spelling through engaging games.

Meanwhile, Year 2 pupils have been preparing for a fantastic talent show, showcasing a wide range of abilities including singing, dancing and even magic. The week has also been an important time of reflection and preparation, with a variety of transition activities helping the children get ready for their move into the next stage of their school journey.

Looking back, it has been an incredible year for our Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and 2 pupils at Truro School Pre-Prep. From Christmas performances to Forest School parties, red carpet premiers, World Book Week, trips and Sports Day, we are so proud of all our courageous pupils have achieved.

It has been an incredible year, full of energy, creativity and growth across the Pre-Prep, with every year group embracing new experiences and looking ahead with excitement.
