Sixth Form Cookery

Students in Lower Sixth (Year 12) recently showcased their culinary skills in an engaging practical session as part of their professional cookery course. Working towards the CTH Level 3 Extended Certificate in Professional Cookery in partnership with Leiths, students prepared an elegant dessert of vanilla panna cotta served with roasted rhubarb and a delicate shortbread crumb. Alongside this, they baked their own seeded soda bread, demonstrating both sweet and savoury techniques.

The session highlighted the students’ growing confidence in the kitchen, as well as their ability to present dishes with creativity and precision. From carefully balancing flavours to mastering baking techniques, the results were both impressive and delicious.
