A huge well done to our Ten Tors teams who travelled to Bodmin Moor last weekend for an intensive training walk.
The group encountered challenging weather conditions throughout the day, but demonstrated impressive resilience and determination, taking everything in their stride. Despite the tough terrain and testing elements, spirits remained high. After a long and demanding day on the moor, the teams finished with a session of night navigation, gaining valuable experience of walking in poor visibility and further developing their confidence and teamwork.
The students are training towards May’s Ten Tors Challenge — an annual, two-day, military-run youth endurance event held on Dartmoor. Truro School pupils will be among 2,400 teenagers (400 teams of six) taking part in this remarkable event. Teams navigate routes of 35, 45, or 55 miles, visiting ten checkpoints (tors) along the way, all while remaining completely self-sufficient.
We are incredibly proud of the commitment and perseverance shown so far and look forward to seeing the teams continue their preparations in the months ahead.
