It was a pleasure to welcome back a wonderful cohort of Old Truronians on Saturday 18 October, for the 102nd Annual Reunion Dinner. This special evening brought together alumni from as far back as the Class of 1957, all the way through to our most recent Old Truronians, who left in 2020.
Guests began arriving from 6.30pm and were greeted with a glass of bubbly, live music from the Celtic Chords, and the opportunity to explore a fascinating display of artefacts and photographs, thoughtfully curated by School Archivist and Researcher, Jo Wood.
At 7.25pm, guests were invited to take their seats in the dining hall. The School Grace was led by Reverend Helen Byrne, setting the tone for an evening of reflection, connection, and celebration.
Dinner began with a choice of pumpkin and pea risotto with crispy pancetta or a spiced butternut soup topped with crispy halloumi. The main course featured a beautifully prepared herb-crusted rump of lamb, or the option for roasted celeriac and wild mushrooms. To finish, guests enjoyed an apple tartlet accompanied by vanilla ice cream.
The Guest of Honour was Dennis Keam (Head of DT 1962-98), who entertained everyone with his reflective and humorous speech.
As ever, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who returned to Truro School for this cherished annual tradition. Many of you travelled great distances to be here, and it was a true joy to see old friends reconnect in the very hall where so many memories were made over school lunches and boarding dinners.
A sincere thank you also goes to our incredible events, catering, caretaking, and operational support teams.
