Prep Pupil Rupert Exhibits at the RA

A talented pupil from Truro School Prep is celebrating a remarkable artistic achievement after his painting was selected for exhibition at the prestigious Royal Academy of Arts Young Artists’ Competition.

Rupert’s beautiful painting of his cat, Jeremy, was submitted by Head of Art, Miss Jane Ashdown, and chosen from an extraordinary pool of more than 25,000 entries. With only 200 artworks selected for the in-person exhibition, this is an exceptional accomplishment and a testament to Rupert’s creativity and skill.

Rupert and his family attended a private view of the exhibition in London on Saturday, where they joined fellow young artists to celebrate the exhibition. During their time at the RA, the family also took part in a still-life drawing class at the art school, adding an extra special dimension to an already memorable day.

There is now an opportunity for the wider community to support Rupert’s work through the People’s Choice Award. His painting can be viewed and voted for here, offering a wonderful chance to recognise his achievement on a national stage.

Rupert thoroughly enjoyed his trip and was, quite rightly, delighted with his success, and we are incredibly proud of him.
