This has been an exciting week for sports at Truro School Prep as we welcome Andy Ward to our teaching staff as our new Head of Sports. He brings extensive experience from senior roles at Elstree School, Forres Sandle Manor School, and Kingswood School and is already well known for his inspiring coaching with the Cornish Cricket Company over the past two years.
Kicking off the term, twelve keen and able rugby players left Cornwall early on Saturday, 6th, to make the trip to Millfield Prep School in Glastonbury. They arrived in bright sunshine and enjoyed their lunch, watching some of the older age groups warming up for their rugby matches in the afternoon. With full bellies and plenty of energy, Truro School Prep eagerly took the field against two teams from Millfield Prep and All Hallows’ School. The objective of the day was to have fun and hopefully learn something along the way.
Tackles were made, passes were passed, catches were caught and tries a-plenty were scored. There were even some rucks and scrums along the way! Our squad of Jack L, Mabel L, James V, Hugo V, Albie S, James L, Barney W-A, Henry C, Edward S, Boe I-M, Zander C and Sandy M worked incredibly hard together as a team and were a credit to Truro School Prep.
