Careers Convention

Careers Convention

This year’s Careers Convention will take place in the Assembly Hall at Truro School on Wednesday 15 March, 4.00pm – 6.30pm.

Pupils, students and parents from Years 9, 10 and 11 and Sixth Forms are invited to attend the event which will provide pupils and students with the opportunity to talk to professionals from a wide range of industries including engineering, medicine, accountancy, graphic design and software programming, plus many more.

This year we have again created a dedicated area to showcase some of the major growth industries such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and those outlined in the Government’s Industrial Plan which links closely to Cornwall’s Strategic Economic Plan. These areas in particular offer some fantastic employment opportunities for graduates and school leavers, often in emerging industries.

We very much hope you will encourage your students to attend this free evening and have included a poster for you to advertise the event within your school.  We would be very grateful if you could let us know whether or not you will be encouraging your students to attend by emailing: [email protected]

The Truro School Identity

Our school motto, Esse Quam Videri (to be, rather than to seem to be), captures the essence of our identity and is defined by the 5 C's below. Underpinned by strong Christian principles, we are a caring and inclusive community which values, nurtures and develops each individual.
