This week we have celebrated anti-bullying week across the school, with pupils from Nursery to Sixth Form embracing acts of kindness.
Across the school, pupils have been participating in a ‘Fill a Cup with Kindness’ challenge, where tutor and form groups have been adding a sticker to their cup every time someone experienced kindness or saw someone else showing kindness to another pupil or to a member of staff.
This initiative is encouraged by the NSPCC, and led here in school by Rev Helen, who is spreading the message, “Showing kindness is good for our wellbeing. Receiving kindness is good for our wellbeing”. Rev Helen also presented an assembly in Chapel for ‘All Souls and All Saints Day’, encouraging everyone to be ‘little saints’ and follow in the footsteps of those big and little saints who have gone on before us. The challange is part of a bigger picture of wellbeing, nurturing a culture of kindness around the school. Up for grabs was a cup full of goodies for the tutor group in each year that displayed the most kindness during the challenge.
Also, on Monday of this week, pupils donned their odd socks to celebrate individuality and raise awareness for Anti-Bullying Week. The colourful display of mismatched socks highlighted the importance of embracing differences and showing kindness to everyone in the school community.
A big thank you to all pupils and staff who joined in the fun, helping to make Odd Socks Day a joyful and meaningful occasion and to all those who have shown kindness and joined in the ‘Cup of Kindness’ project.
