Year 4 Badminton Festival

Friday 8th October
We took ten children from Year 4, a mixture of boys and girls who attend the lunchtime club, to the recent badminton festival at Richard Lander School.
The festival, which was attended by five local primary schools, was organised by the sports leaders at Richard Lander School.
The emphasis was on developing skills and confidence, as the children were rotated around different badminton activities.
The children had a brilliant time. Their favourite activities were the competitive ones: a shuttle throwing target game in teams, beating the goalie with an overarm throw, and footwork relays combined with a target throw at the end.
Did you know?
Badminton is covered within our curriculum lessons in PE in school, but if your child is interested in playing on a regular basis, why not get them to try the beginner badminton club on Thursday lunchtime with Mrs Norfolk or the after-school badminton on Tuesdays with Mr Harvey.
