Year 3 Hockey V Truro High

If you asked Year 3 what they enjoyed most about their hockey fixture with Truro High School, they would probably choose the minibus journey or even the lollipops afterwards.

This was their first hockey match for most of them and the first time they had played on an AstroTurf hockey pitch. Some of them were nervous. Would they like playing in a hockey match? Would they be any good at hockey?

As it turned out, all of the girls had a brilliant afternoon of matches. The matches were ‘coached games’ – for both sides – and our players made good progress with their understanding of hockey rules.

They also coped particularly well with playing against more experienced, older players, as Truro High School had mixed year group teams (due to pupil absence).
