Values Award Winners 11.12.25

A huge congratulations to this week’s Values Awards and Head’s Commendation Winners.

Year 7: Jesse F – Jesse has a consistently positive attitude and has been an excellent, considerate leader within his form on a number of occasions.

Year 8 Harry W – Harry spoke with incredible passion and confidence in the Year 8 charity presentation session, delivering an unscripted and inspiring speech that was warm, heartfelt, and grounded in his personal reasons for supporting the charity.

Year 9: Jack H – Jack delivered an excellent anti-bullying presentation to his form last month.

Year 10: Verity B – Who had the confidence to enter the Senior Maths Challenge and was awarded the top grade in the whole school in the follow-on Andrew Jobbins Senior Kangaroo, competing against students in Years 11, 12 and 13.

Year 11: James B – For showing courage and determination to complete his Trial 2 English paper despite feeling unwell.

Year 12: Pippa N and Lily C – For organising a Christmas trip to a local care home to spread Christmas cheer, where they and a group of other students will be singing Christmas carols and taking mince pies and shortbread which have also arranged to make in school.  Both girls have also been key players in other CAT activities this term, including the Christmas Fayre and this week’s Charity Day.

Year 13: Harry E – Harry volunteered to support the recent PSHE drop-down day for Year 13, leading one of the First Aid sessions and drawing on his RNLI experience as a beach lifeguard. Despite having his Leith’s canape evening to prepare for, he completed his preparation a day early so he could still contribute to the PSHE session.

Head’s commendations:

Verity B for exceptional mathematical ability and academic maturity.

Frederick P for stepping in at short notice to play the piano at an important school event with confidence and skill – which was invaluable to the event’s success.

James M, Noah B, Charlie L and Ben M for volunteering to lead a tennis session with younger pupils. They were calm, respectful with a clear sense of fun, a true embodiment of all that is good in Truro School.

Phoebe C, Toby J, Will V and Annie S (all in Year 7) for writing amazing poetry based upon the Barn Owl following the Owl Sanctuary visit.
