U13 Boys’ Hockey County Champions

There were 10 teams in total, which were split into 2 groups. We were drawn an extremely hard group, facing Richard Lander A, Mounts Bay School, Bude and Liskeard A. We finished topping the group, winning 3 out of our 4 games, scoring a total of 11 goals and only letting 2 in.

Going into the semi-final we faced Penrice, which we comfortably won 4-0.

After a long day of hockey we had our biggest challenge yet, Penair, who earlier on in the week we lost 3-0 to so knew we had to step our game up; with end-to-end play and by man-marking two of their top players out the game, we were prepared for action. The boys just topped the possession, and secured the 1st goal. Shortly after Penair scored, making it 1-1.

With only 3 minutes left on the clock our boys gave a final push, upping the intensity and work rate which paid off and resulted in a 2-1 win.

The boys were fantastic throughout the day in terms of attitude and performance, both individual and team. They deserved the win, keeping calm and composed throughout.

We now go on to play at the Regional Finals in Millfield next week!

Well done boys!
