Truro School Shines at Devon County Show

Last week, Truro School headed across the border into sunny Devon to take part in the Devon County Show at Westpoint Arena.

Across three packed days, the show offered a vibrant celebration of rural life, featuring farming displays, agricultural awards, children’s activities, artisan stalls, and live demonstrations.

We were proud to represent Truro School and share a glimpse of our dynamic community with visitors from across the region. It was a pleasure to connect with alumni and friends of the school, with plenty of engaging and positive conversations throughout the event.

Our stand showcased an impressive selection of work from our Senior and Sixth Form pupils. A definite crowd favourite was a striking dinosaur model, kindly loaned by our Geology Department.

As one of the few schools in the South West offering Geology at both GCSE and A-Level, we were delighted to share students’ workbooks and a fascinating array of rocks and fossils from our departmental collection. These sparked curiosity and tested the geological knowledge of many of our guests.

We were thrilled to be awarded a Silver Medal for ‘Most Attractive Educational Stand’ by the show organisers. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to speak with us. We’re already looking forward to the Royal Cornwall Show next month, see you there!
