Trevithick Day March

Saturday marked a spectacular celebration in Camborne town centre as thousands gathered for the annual Trevithick Day. The streets came alive with the sights, sounds, and steam of a truly traditional Cornish occasion, complete with processions, live music, dancing, the iconic Puffing Devil re-enactment, and the much-loved steam gala, featuring a parade of vintage vehicles.

We were delighted to see Truro School represented in the festivities, with several of our talented musicians performing as part of the Camborne Town Band, led by our very own Prep Music Teacher, Mr Pope. Senior pupils Tom, Will, Jenny, Maya, and Joseph played a key role in leading the musical procession through the town.

You can view the video of the band in action on Facebook HERE

Congratulations to all our pupils who took part, and Happy Trevithick Day to everyone who joined in the celebrations!

A big thank you to Camborne Town Council and our supportive parents for kindly sharing their photography for this story.
