Through Their Eyes: A Portrait Exchange. Building on the success of last year’s cross-campus portrait project, we were delighted to host another remarkable exhibition in the Heseltine Gallery.
This collaborative initiative brings together last year’s 3rd Year pupils and Year 6 pupils from the Prep School, with each pupil creating an artistic interpretation of their counterpart’s portrait.
Under the expert guidance of Mrs Ashdown, Prep pupils explored key artistic techniques, including colour mixing, tonal drawing, and facial proportions. The 3rd Year pupils embarked on a full creative process, transforming their drawings into finished portrait paintings – a journey that began in the summer term.
Beyond developing artistic skills, this project fosters meaningful connections between year groups. Now in the 1st and 4th Years, many of the participating pupils have the opportunity to reunite and engage with one another, reinforcing a sense of community – especially as they see their work come together in the final exhibition.
We are immensely proud of the pupils’ high level of work and feel this exhibition is a testament to their hard work and creativity.
