Sports Round Up 09.10.26

Swimming
On Wednesday 23rd September, 24 pupils travelled to Millfield School to compete in the annual ESSA South West Regional Qualifier. All swimmers supported one another throughout the day and should be proud of their efforts, particularly those representing the School in a swimming competition for the first time.

Hockey
Hockey has made a flying start to the season, with competitive fixtures across the U12 to U18 age groups against Mount Kelly, Penryn College, Penair and Truro College. This has been strong preparation for the U18 County Tournament this week, and it is great to see such high numbers at after-school clubs making the most of our new facility.

Golf
Well done to Jenson D, who recently travelled to Ferndown Forest in Dorset as part of a team of six U12 boys representing Cornwall Golf in the SWCGA U12s championship. Cornwall were victorious, and Jenson shot the lowest individual gross score of the competition with a round of 74 (+7), winning the trophy and the title of Southwest England U12s Champion.

Triathlon
Congratulations to Aria G, who has been selected as a South West Triathlon Academy Affiliate for the 2026/27 season following a weekend of trials. The selection is particularly special after a challenging year and a gradual return to training and racing, and we are proud of the resilience she has shown.

Netball
The week began with the U15 and U14 netball teams taking to the court in the next rounds of the SnS Cup. The U15s faced Newquay Tretherras, and the U14s played Truro High School, with both teams producing impressive performances to secure well-deserved wins against strong opposition. Well done to all pupils involved.
