As a part of their MFL (modern foreign languages) learning, our Year 5 Truro School Prep pupils took a trip to the Senior School to participate in Spanish-inspired baking with staff from Truro School Cookery.
Joining Mr Rosenthal and the Truro School Cookery team, pupils made delicious Magdalenas from scratch, employing newfound techniques such as sieving, whisking, cracking eggs and grating.
These enjoyable sessions aim to broaden the children’s horizons in Spanish, as well as improve and give them confidence in the kitchen. It is also a chance for our Year 5 pupils to gain familiarity with the Senior School site and staff ahead of a more structured transition programme in Year 6.
Well done to all of our cocineros, and thanks to all the staff who make these valuable and engaging learning opportunities happen.
