Skills Shared for DofE

It was a pleasure to welcome Year 9 pupil, Henry, to Truro School Prep as he began his first volunteering session with our Prep pupils.

Henry is working towards his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award and is required to complete hours in voluntary positions to qualify. He looked immediately at home on the Prep field as he joined coaches for the weekly rugby after-school club. Getting stuck in with suggestions, tips and strategies, it was a pleasure to see the younger pupils learn from his skillset, while Henry’s coaching confidence grew.

In the year of Confidence, it is fantastic to see our school community embracing opportunities to develop our pupils in their interests by sharing skills and passions across the year groups. We look forward to seeing how Henry and all the other DofE volunteers develop across the term.
