Sixth Form Diploma Awards

There was a strong sense of pride in the whole school assembly as the community came together to celebrate the achievements of our exceptional Sixth Form students for this year’s Sixth Form Diploma Awards. The full list of Bronze, Silver and Gold can be found below.

The Diploma continues to represent the very best of a Truro School education, recognising not only academic endeavour, but also the character, courage and commitment our students demonstrate beyond the classroom.

Over the past two years, this cohort has embraced a remarkable breadth of opportunities. From leadership roles and community service to personal development and intellectual exploration, students have challenged themselves, discovered new passions, and contributed richly to school life. As the summer examinations approach, this moment offered a valuable pause to reflect on just how much has been achieved.

In addition to the certificates, the specialist awards highlighted the diversity and depth of achievement across the cohort.

In Leadership and Service, congratulations to Sophie and Harry, who were recognised for their outstanding commitment to the school community. Through roles such as Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, prefect positions, mentoring and extensive volunteering, they demonstrated maturity, initiative and a genuine desire to make a difference.

In Personal Growth, well done to Isaac and Ella, who fully embraced the spirit of trying new things. From lifeguarding and scuba diving to performance, sport and wellbeing activities, both students showed resilience, curiosity and a willingness to step beyond their comfort zones.

In Supracurricular Achievement, Hattie and Billy were commended for their intellectual ambition. Their engagement in lectures, academic competitions and meaningful work experience reflects a cohort deeply committed to learning beyond the confines of the classroom.

Finally, congratulations to Oriana, named Overall Sixth Form Diploma Scholar, in recognition of her exceptional achievement across all three strands. Her ability to balance leadership, personal development and academic enrichment makes her a truly outstanding role model.

In a warm, humorous and honest speech, Celia offered a glimpse into life as a Diploma Scholar. She reflected on the journey from a last-minute application and a nerve-wracking interview to the friendships and experiences that quickly followed.

She spoke about how the programme helped break down barriers and helped forge strong connections within a diverse group of students united by shared enthusiasm rather than a single talent.

Celia highlighted that the Diploma is not about being the best at one thing, but about passion, commitment and openness to opportunity, and her message to younger students was clear: take the opportunity, and embrace the challenge, because the rewards are well worth it.

The Sixth Form Diploma continues to embody what makes Truro School such an incredible place for Sixth Form: curiosity, kindness, courage and contribution. This year’s cohort has truly lived those values, and we look forward to seeing all they go on to achieve.
