Royal Society of British Artists Exhibition

Upper Sixth student Ella Williams had the amazing opportunity of exhibiting at the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) Rising Stars Exhibition, after being selected for inclusion at this renowned annual arts event.

Held at both The Mall Galleries and the Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL) in London, the exhibition was opened by guest speaker Will Gompertz, BBC Arts Editor and writer for The Guardian and The Times newspapers.

Ella commented: “I was delighted to be selected for the RBA exhibition and it was a lot of fun going up to London to the private view and having the opportunity to meet Will Gompertz (I am a fan of his work as a journalist), and to see all of the work at the show.”

For the past four years, Ella worked as a volunteer on Saturday mornings helping to set up for life drawing classes at the St Ives School of Painting, and also attended the life drawing classes there herself, which is how her life drawing came to being.

Ella added: “I am hoping to pursue my interest in art by studying the subject at Edinburgh College of Art next year, and am very much looking forward to studying art at university.”
