Old Truronian Competes in Prestigious Multisport Event

Old Truronian Emily Trevail CO11 will arrive at this weekend’s (13th/14th Feb 2026) prestigious multisport event: Kathmandu Coast to Coast Longest Day, ranked 5th, taking on the iconic Longest Day elite race for the first time after a carefully built rise through the two-day race ranks.

The Coast to Coast has become almost a rite of passage for multisport athletes from around the world with over 20,000 people having completed the event in the 40+ years to date.

Emily first lined up in the Two-Day Individual race in 2021, and by 2024, she had climbed into the top 10, finishing 8th, before delivering a breakthrough performance in 2025, where she claimed the Two-Day Individual women’s title.

“There’s that pressure that comes with it. I’ve been told by a few people that pressure is a privilege,” she says. “I’m trying not to let the pressure get to me of being up there alongside those names, but this year is my first crack. So, it’s really about learning. I’m going out to learn, see how it goes, and test things out.”

Once someone who avoided running altogether, Emily now steps onto the Longest Day start line as a proven two-day champion.

Since leaving Truro School, Emily lives in Christchurch, New Zealand and is working in fundraising for the non-profit sector.

Many thanks to Emily’s dad and Old Truronian, Phil Trevail CO81 for sharing Emily’s incredible news with us.

Enormous luck, Emily!
