Head of Modern Foreign Languages at the Senior School, Mrs Le Bihan Murphy and Upper Sixth students Charlie and Harriet visited the Pre-Prep to wish everybody a fun-filled ‘Joyeux Noël’.
Pupils were given the opportunity to learn a little French while taking part in some French Christmas activities. They learnt key vocabulary, songs and dances and investigated how Christmas is celebrated in France compared to the UK.
As pupils from the Pre-Prep progress through their education at Truro School, languages form an important part of their learning. Spanish is the main language taught from Nursery, but French and German are also introduced in Years 5 and 6 as a part of a language carousel. By engaging with languages from an early age, our pupils can benefit from improved listening, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Merci beaucoup to Mrs Le Bihan Murphy, Charlie and Harriet for hosting this exciting session, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
