Truro School was delighted to welcome more than 100 grandparents of our Year 7 pupils for one of the most cherished events in our school calendar, our Grandparents Afternoon. The annual gathering celebrates the invaluable role our grandparents and grand-friends play in our community and in the lives of our pupils.
The afternoon began with a warm welcome in the Chapel from the Head and Chaplain, Rev. Helen, followed by a beautiful performance from our Chamber Choir and Choristers, which set a joyful and reflective tone. With a summary of the year’s adventures so far from Head of Lower School, Mrs Thurlow, grandparents then accompanied their grandchildren on a short walk around the school, offering a glimpse into the spaces where they learn, discover, and grow each day.
The visit finished with a delightful afternoon tea in the Dining Hall, where pupils, staff, and guests shared stories over delicious cakes and refreshments.
It was a truly special occasion, bringing generations together and highlighting the strength of the connections that make our school community so unique.
