Flying the Green Flag

We are proud to announce that Truro School has once again been awarded the prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag with Distinction. This recognition reflects a sustained commitment to the environment across both our Senior School and Prep School sites.

Since 1994, the Eco-Schools Green Flag 7-step programme has been empowering schools across the UK to take action on critical environmental issues, and the award is not easily achieved. Schools must demonstrate a clear and effective action plan, meaningful pupil involvement and measurable impact in areas such as biodiversity, energy use, waste reduction and global citizenship. Achieving a Distinction means our work exceeded expectations, showing innovation and depth in our approach to sustainability.

This success is the result of dedication from across our community, from our passionate Eco-Committee and Eco Club members, our gardening team and the many dedicated staff who have supported environmental projects throughout the year. Well done and thanks to them all.

This award also recognises our culture of encouraging responsibility in our school, to look to the community and our wider world. This culture is embedded in our school values and helps equip our young people with the skills and values needed to care for our planet, inspiring action now and for the future.
