Festive Joy Fills The Heseltine Gallery

The Artisan Christmas Fair at The Heseltine Gallery proved to be an enchanting evening of festive fun, drawing families, pupils and members of the Truro School community together to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.

Over 25 artisan stalls filled the gallery, showcasing an impressive array of locally made art and crafts. Visitors discovered unique gifts from talented makers, including Louise Daykin Prints, Tin Cup Happy, Chapel Ceramics, The Woolly Shepherdess, Sew Indigo Blue, Nic Hole Ceramics, Nankilly, Carol Notman, Sew Trew, Tortue, Gillian James Art, Little Miss Fox Crafts, Blystra Candles, Joanna Williams Art, Evocative Cornwall, Rugsy Lugsy and Penstone Art. All of our traders brought work of an exceptionally high standard, offering an array of perfect gifts for the festive season.

Our School Community Action Team (CAT) delighted attendees with their own pupil-designed artwork, cards and face painting, while our Music Department filled the gallery with Christmas carols and festive performances throughout the evening.

The FTS hosted Carols Around the Christmas Tree with the choristers, adding to the warm and joyful atmosphere, and the irresistible aroma of mulled wine and mince pies drifted through the gallery as our pop-up café served a range of festive treats, including a Christmas yule log that took up half the table on its own!

In the Chapel, children enjoyed a magical performance of the puppet show Bethlehemian Rhapsody, and also took part in our interactive Sheep Trail to track down the lost sheep, a highlight for many of our younger visitors.

We were also proud to support several local charities, helping raise awareness of their important work through the Christmas season. Representatives from The Trussell Trust, Cornwall Hospice Care, Truro Homeless Action Group, St Petroc’s and Children’s Hospice South West joined us to share their messages with the community.

It was a wonderful evening that brought together creativity, community spirit and festive cheer – an uplifting start to the Christmas season for Truro School families from both Senior and Prep.
