U20 Fencing European championships – Tallinn, Estonia

Lexie C travelled to Tallinn with the GB team to compete in the U20 European Championships. She was number 25th on the ranking list before the competition. Lexie started well her poole fights. She won 5 fights and lost only 1. After this round she didn`t have an opponent in the top 64, she went straight to the top 32.

In the first direct elimination round she beat her Greek opponent 15-11 and stepped into the top 16. There she had to fence with the ranked number 8th French girl. Lexie started the fight very well and surprised her more experienced opponent. Unfortunately, in the end, the French girl reached the 15th hit first and she went to the top 8, she eventually went on to become the U20 European Champion. Lexie finished the competition in an amazing 10th place, taking the title of the best British fencer. Congratulations Lexie!
