Feathered Friends for Year 5 Artists

Our lucky Year 5 artists have enjoyed a visit from Tony Minnion. Based in Redruth, Tony is best known for his rugged landscapes and for his specialisation in screen printing.

Having created sketches of birds using feathers and ink in the Autumn Term, pupils used these to create stencils to begin their screen prints. With their stencils completed, they then worked with Tony to create some beautiful screen prints of their work, which they painstakingly painted to bring their feathered friends to life.

We were extremely impressed with the care, creativity and craft our pupils used throughout the process. The results were stunning, and it was a pleasure to see the pride our pupils felt in their finished prints.
