Following their recent biology fieldtrip to Newquay Zoo, our 1st Year pupils have been exploring the topic of animal extinction. Each selected a continent to focus on and researched a species native to that region. Their investigations explored why these animals are threatened or endangered, current population estimates, and the conservation efforts in place to protect them.
To showcase their findings, each pupil created an informative and visually engaging poster. These posters highlighted the causes of extinction, such as habitat loss, climate change, and poaching and celebrated the global efforts to preserve biodiversity.
We are proud to announce the winners of the poster competition, which was judged by our Sixth Form prefects:
1st Place: Eddie TK, Rafferty P, Euan C, Jakub R, Rowan R
2nd Place: Barnaby H, Ben T, Rex F, Rafferty D
Congratulations to all our pupils for their research, creativity and passion for wildlife conservation.
