It has been a busy summer for Truro School Enterprises. Whilst our pupils have been off-site, the campus has been busy with activity, from our popular holiday clubs, to business events, cooking classes, exhibitions, theatre and more!
Some of the summer highlights include:
The Burrell Theatre has been at the centre of a musical marvel this summer, with All Starz taking over the space with an excited cohort of young performers to learn and show their ‘Musical in a Week’ version of Matilda, followed by Boom Theatre’s high energy performance of Bring it On!
Rajasthan Royals Cricket Camps welcomed children of all levels and abilities to play softball and hardball cricket in their summer holiday club. Alongside this the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre hosted their popular Multi-Sport Activity Camps, and Netball Holiday Club.
All the way from South Africa, Truro School hosted the St Stithian’s Boys cricketers, as a part of their annual tour of the United Kingdom. The team made use of our full board accommodation and enjoyed playing cricket against local Cornish teams.
Our holiday club offering took on a new format, with a special art class added to the timetable. Participants found wildlife and insects within the Prep School grounds, before drawing them into their sketchbooks, and transferring to beautiful, bright paintings in the art studio.
Over 40 businesses and delegates from across Cornwall gathered for the annual Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Business Fair. The event served as a dynamic platform for local entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators to connect, collaborate and explore new opportunities.
The Teen Cookery Camp was also a new addition to the summer holiday club offering, providing a challenging and fun environment for the group to gain confidence and learn important life skills. Students took home a variety of delicious starters, mains and desserts that they had made themselves, with expert tuition.
Kate Cambridge took over The Heseltine Gallery, with her exhibition ‘Trees and Memories’. The exhibition collated 20 powerful pieces, with some well-known Cornish gardens represented, such as Heligan, Tregothan, Caerhays, Glendurgen and Trelissick. The King’s Forrester and High Sheriff Geraint Richards joined us for the launch, to officially open the exhibition and commend Kate’s dedication to creating this very special collection.
We would like to thank all of our external hires, providers and members of the public who joined us on site for one of our busiest summers.
