A huge congratulations to Jacob (Lower Sixth) and Jess (2nd year) on their selection to compete in the English Schools’ Athletics Association (E.S.A.A.) championships this summer. Jacob qualified by running 400m in a fantastic time of 49.87, placing him in the top 16 school aged athletes in the country, with another year still left at school. Sadly, Jacob has suffered an injury, which means he will miss out on competing this year. We wish Jacob well with his recovery.
Jess has consistently run strong races across the 1500m distance and will compete in the junior girls’ age group, a year younger than most of her competitors. Jess has been working hard all year and we are so pleased to see that she has qualified for the championships. Well done Jess!
The national schools’ event takes place in Manchester on July 9.
