Drama and Music Trip to London

Year 11, 12 and 13 Music and Drama pupils enjoyed an unforgettable trip to London’s West End last weekend. The visit began with a spectacular performance of The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins’ bestselling novel brought thrillingly to life in a colossal amphitheatre in Canary Wharf. With stunning lighting and projections, dynamic choreography and breath-taking fight sequences, the production left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.

The Music students then headed to the Royal Opera House to experience Verdi’s lavish masterpiece La Traviata, while Drama students spent the evening laughing along with Mischief Theatre’s The Play That Goes Wrong, a fast-paced, slapstick farce that proved hugely inspiring. The following morning, Drama pupils took part in a practical workshop led by a member of the Mischief Theatre company, exploring physical comedy and discovering how to find their “inner clown”.

The trip was rounded off with an unforgettable backstage tour of the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. Seeing the inner workings of this world-class organisation at close quarters was a real eye-opener, and students and staff alike were astounded by the level of detail, commitment and professionalism on display.

A huge thank you to the teachers for ogranising and supporting the trip. The pupils were a credit to Truro School throughout, and a wonderful time was had by all. It was truly a trip to cherish.
