A huge well done to our 78 incredible Year 10 pupils who successfully completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Qualifying Expedition on Dartmoor at the weekend.
Despite facing a mix of challenging weather conditions including storms, driving rain, floods, bursts of sunshine, strong winds, and more rain, they showed remarkable resilience, grit and teamwork throughout.
All 13 teams have now officially completed their Silver Awards, having fulfilled every section: Volunteering, Physical, and Skills. An outstanding achievement.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated staff and volunteers who supported the teams. Their guidance and commitment were invaluable, especially in such tough conditions. The DofE programme simply wouldn’t be possible without you all.
We are incredibly proud of every single pupil who demonstrated determination, spirit and good humour throughout.
Miss Mayne said, “We are so proud of the resilience everyone showed throughout a challenging expedition and how motivated they have been to complete the rest of their Silver award (Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections). A massive well done, I hope they go on to complete their Gold DofE.”
