Confidence, Camaraderie and Kindness in Netball Tournament

Our mixed U11 netball team put on a fantastic display at the Truro School’s Netball Qualifier Event last week, growing in confidence and skill with every game. Despite a challenging start, the players showed resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to improving their game, finishing the day with a series of impressive performances.

In the opening match, the team faced fast, basketball-like opposition and took some time to settle into their rhythm. Initial hesitancy in attack meant that opportunities were missed, but as the game progressed, their movement off the ball improved significantly, and the goals started coming. We lost our first game by just one goal and learnt not to underestimate our opposition for the day.

This renewed determination led to the next five matches being convincing wins, with Aria showing great accuracy whilst shooting and Daniel working hard in defence to turn over the ball repeatedly.

One of the standout aspects of the team’s play throughout the day was their ability to work together and pass into space. As their confidence grew, so did their awareness of teammates’ positioning, allowing them to move the ball swiftly and create scoring opportunities.

It was an absolute pleasure to take the team to the tournament for the day. All of the players improved immensely and showed great respect not only to each other but also to the umpires and opposition. Annie received a special medal from the umpires at the end of the day for her ‘kindness and enthusiasm through out every match’. Well done Annie.
