As part of their humanities topic on coasts, Year 4 spent last Friday on Perranporth Beach. After an informative talk by the RNLI, the children looked at coastal features such as caves, arches and stacks and had a great time making sand models to explain how they are formed.
Although primarily a humanities trip, Mr Goddard never misses an opportunity to add a tricky maths task or two, and so the children were challenged to solve various problems, displaying their workings in the sand.
The day was rounded off with a much-deserved tasty ice cream for everyone. A great day was had by all.
With thanks to the staff who bring these learning opportunities to life.
