As our Christmas Artisan Fayre approaches, the CAT Team have been busy preparing their activities and fundraising initiatives.
Sixth Form students are creating their own lino-print cards. Student Jackson explained that they have designed and made the prints themselves; his design will be sold alongside those from Bea and Stella. We caught up with Jackson in the Truro School Art workshops as he worked on his cards, and we are pleased to share an exclusive first look at his design. This is the first time he has sold his work commercially, and he is looking forward to being part of the event.
The CAT Team will host their own stall in the Heseltine Gallery, where they will offer bauble decorating for attendees and games such as Guess How Many Candy Canes Are in the Jar.
Students Pippa and Lily will be offering face painting and are excited to be part of the event, while raising money for ingredients to bake Cornish Fairings to hand deliver to Cathedral Care Home the following week. During this visit they will be performing music for residents and spreading Christmas cheer! The biscuits will be a lovely gift, from our community to theirs. Any leftover funds raised from face painting will be distributed to the CAT Christmas charities. Designs will be priced between £2-£4, depending on design, and will be available on the hands or face. We were able to catch up with Pippa and Lily practising their designs, ready for Tuesday.
Students will be involved in the event alongside local craftspeople, who will be bringing their bespoke designs to the school for you to peruse; local charities, who are working with Rev. Helen to raise awareness of their work; and our boarding community, who are working on a display to celebrate their cultures and festivities around the world.
The event will also feature festive refreshments, carols around the tree, a treasure hunt, and the opportunity to purchase freshly cut Christmas trees.
If you would like to join us, the Christmas Artisan Craft Fayre will take place on Tuesday 2 December, 4.00–6.30pm, in the Heseltine Gallery and Chapel.
All Truro School families from Senior and Prep are welcome.
